Meet Istanbul: The Event

Connect with international students

  • Get involved with a Turkish Student Association at a
    local university.
  • Prayerfully consider opening your home to an
    international student.
  • Contact your local university’s international student department to learn how to become a host.
  • Check out these programs for hosting high school and
    university students:
  • Start an ‘Adopt an International Student’ program at your church. Partner with a local university and challenge individuals or families to ‘adopt’ a student for the year — invite them over for dinner, give them care packages or take them out for their birthday to make them feel at home.

Stay updated and pray for God’s work

  • Follow what God is doing in Central Asia and pray for
    specific needs.
  • Pray for the Zaza people, an unreached people group in
    eastern Turkey.
    • Get live updates and blog posts about the Zaza people.
    • Email pray4zaza@gmail.com to learn about upcoming volunteer trips and specific ways that you and your church can help reach the Zaza people with the love and
      truth of Jesus.

Pray for Muslims

  • Join Christians around the world to pray for Muslims during Islam’s 30-day Ramadan fast. Download an informational booklet.
  • Hold a prayer tea for Muslim women at your next women’s fellowship. Order a free copy of the brochure or download a PDF.

Connect with Muslims

  • Build relationships with Muslims in your area and learn about
    their culture.
  • Hold a discussion session with your church and a local mosque or Muslim group.

Join God’s work in Istanbul

  • Most Turks are not separated from Christ because they have rejected the Gospel, but they are lost because they have never heard the Gospel.  Come help the workers in Istanbul and be a part of what God is doing through evangelism, Bible distribution, audio Bible distribution, prayer walking, research, ethnography, children’s camps, English club and conversational English groups. For more information about available projects in Central Asia, please email CA.IcanGO@gmail.com.
